  • Práce je zaměřena na stanovení elektrokinetického potenciálu na povrchu částic kaolínu v kapalném prostředí. Byl sledován vliv koncentrace pevných částic, různých druhů elektrolytů (0.01 M KCl, 0.01 M MgCl2 a 0.01 M CaCl2), pH a teploty dispersí na hodnoty zeta potenciálu. Isoelektrický bod kaolínových suspensí nastává při pH 4-5. Elektrolyty obsahující monovalentní kationy jako např. K+ posunují hodnoty zeta potenciálu k zápornějším hodnotám v porovnání s vodným prostředím. Takové chování je vysvětleno výměnou H+ a K+ iontů v systému. Pokud je elektrolyt tvořen dvojmocnými ionty jako např. Mg2+ nebo Ca2+ hodnoty zeta potenciálu jsou méně negativní než hodnoty zeta potenciálu kaolínu ve vodě. (cs)
  • The work is focused on determination of electrokinetic potential on the surface of kaolin in liquid medium. Effects of concentration of solid, different kind of electrolytes (0.01 M KCl, 0.01 M MgCl2 and 0.01 M CaCl2), pH and temperature of the dispersions on the zeta potential are investigated. The isoelectric points (IEP) of kaolin suspension are about pH 4-5. Electrolytes containing monovalent cations such as K+ become zeta potential more negative compared to the values obtained with water. Such behaviour is explained by the exchange of K+ ions with H+ ions in the system. When the electrolyte is formed by divalent cations such as Mg2+ or Ca2+, the values of zeta potential become less negative than zeta potential of kaolin in water.
