Description
| - The crystal growth kinetics of GeS2 in Ge0.38S0.62 glass has been studied by Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and microscopy. The linear crystal growth kinetics of both high temperature and low temperature polymorphs has been observed over a relatively broad range of temperatures, i.e. 420 < T < 494 oC that correspond to viscosity of supercooled melt. It seems that 2D nucleated growth is the most probable mechanism of crystallization for high temperature under these conditions. However, there are significant deviations for this model for the crystallization of low-temperature. This might indicate some changes in crystal-melt interfacial energy or break down of Stokes-Einstein relation in that particular case. At temperatures below the temperature range of directly observed crystal growth overlaps with isothermal DSC measurements. - Kinetika růstu krystalů GeS2 ve skelné matrici Ge0.38S0.62 byla studována mikroskopicky a pomocí DSC. Kinetika lineárního růstu vysokoteplotní i nízkoteplotní krystalové modifikace byla studována v relativně širokém teplotním rozmezí 420 < T < 494 oC, jež odpovídá viskozitám podchlazené kapaliny. Zdá se že nejpravděpodobnějším mechanismem krystalizace za těchto podmínek je pro vysokoteplotní modifikaci dvoudimenzionální nukleační růst. U nízkoteplotní modifikace jsou však znatelné odchylky od tohoto modelu. To může indikovat změny v meziplošné energii krystal-tavenina nebo částečné selhání Stokes-Einsteinova vztahu pro tento případ. U teplot pod 500 °C se mikroskopická měření překrývají s měřeními entalpickými. V tomto případě může být celková kinetika krystalizace popsána Johnson-Mehl-Avrami (JMA) nukleačně-růstovým modelem s kinetickým exponentem. Hodnota aktivační energie nukleace EN = 434 kJ.mol-1 odhadnutá z těchto experimentů je srovnatelná s aktivační energií viskózního toku podchlazené G (cs)
