  • Vzorky amorfního (a-Se), krystalického (c-Se) a částečně zakrystalovaného (pc-Se) selenu byly zkoumány v širokém teplotním rozmezí simultánně metodami délkové dilatometrie a pozitronové anihilační spektroskopie. Dilatometrická i PALS měření a-Se a pc-Se vzorků na rozdíl od c-Se vykazují stejné charakteristické zakřivení při charakteristických teplotách přechodů Tg (a-Se) and Tx (pc-Se). Doba života positronů je pro a-Se nižší než v případě pc-Se. PALS experimenty ukazují že anihilace positronů je citlivá na skelný přechod. Byly určeny a porovnány teplotní koeficienty délkové, potažmo objemové roztažnosti s výsledky získanými pozitronovou anihilací pro vzorky a-Se a pc-Se. Hodnoty koeficientů roztažnosti z PALS jsou pro a-Se dvakrát a pro pc-Se dokonce pětkrát vyšší než hodnoty získané dilatometricky a to pro oblast nad i pod Tx respektive Tg. Tyto výsledky vedou k závěrům jež zobrazují pc-Se jako neideální krystalickou matrici s neuspořádanými oblastmi mezi mikrokrystaly stejně jako v a-Se ale s odliš (cs)
  • Macroscopic expansion and microscopic positron annihilation behaviours on the three samples of selenium (Se): amorphous (a-Se), crystalline (c-Se) and partially crystalline (pc-Se) forms have been investigated over wide temperature ranges simultaneously by means of length dilatometry or positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy, respectively. Dilatometric and PALS responses on the a-Se and pc-Se samples exhibit similar courses characterized by the presence of more or less pronounced bend effects at the characteristic transition temperatures Tg (a-Se) and Tx (pc-Se) in contrast to crystalline form without any bend effect. The positron lifetimes for a-Se are systematically lower than those for pc-Se. PALS experiments show that the annihilation of positron is sensitive to glass transition.
