Description	The General Civil Code finally introduced into practice two different views of the institution of marriage: the state's view and that of the Catholic Church. Nevertheless, the state required that both views be integrated in the person of parish priest and that the priest take on the role o reliable civil servant being able to administratively %22clear%22 the fiancés for regular marriage. The Catholic priest remained an important executor of the state's will, at least until the late late1860s when the concordat ceased to apply and obligatory civil marriage was introduced. (en) Dank Allgemeinem Bürgerlichem Gesetzbuch bekommt in Praxis eine doppelte Rechtssichte für die Ehe: Staatsrecht und Kirchenrecht. Katholischer Pfarrer muss in Praxis beide diese Rechtssichte beherrschen, damit er als Staatsbeamter und Repräsentant der Kirche und damit er gut die Brautleute zum gültigen Eheschließung.
