Description	This article tries to present la Main - the street which corresponds with the St. Lawrence Boulevard (Montreal, Canada) - in the work of M. Tremblay, Quebecian author and play-writer. In Tremblay s literature universe la Main is elevated to be an exceptional place of the imaginary, since it represents such a parallel world, where it is possible to accomplish own dreams or/and reach a desired identity. Because of this reason the theatre plays in various cabarets and clubs on la Main street become to be ontological, since their goal is to conceal the reality. Despite of this (almost carnavalesque) subversion, the reality does not stop to be visible as the image of the majority culture. Finally la Main becomes to symbolize the junction of the religious, town and western imaginary and we try to point these imaginaries specially in the case of St. Carmen de la Main. (en) Le but de notre article consiste a présenter la Main, rue qui correspond géographiquement au boulevard Saint-Laurent a Montréal, telle qu elle apparaît dans l oeuvre de Michel Tremblay, dramaturge et écrivain québécois. Dans son univers littéraire, la Main est promue au lieu de l imaginaire par excellence car elle représente un monde parallele ou il s avere possible de réaliser des reves sur la scene des cabarets ou/et d´y acquérir l´identité désirée. C´est pourquoi les spectacles des cabarets de la Main deviennent ontologiques : c est toute la réalité qui veut etre costumée et travestie. En dépit de cette subversion (presque carnavalesque) de la réalité, celle-ci reste toujours présente en fonctionnant comme un miroir de la culture majoritaire. Par conséquent, la Main de Tremblay symbolise l intersection de l imaginaire religieux, urbain et western dont la présence nous essayons de démonter particulierement a l´aide de Sainte Carmen de la Main.
