Description	Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies and Institute of Philosophy of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic cordially invite you to the international conference, whose theme is thinking of Georges Canguilhem and its place in the French philosophy of the 20th century. The main subject of the conference is the problem of normativity of life according to Canguilhem, as well as the questionable distinction between normal and abnormal. Equally welcome are contributions dealing with the methodology of the natural sciences and the specificity of understanding of the living organism compared to the understanding of unanimate nature. In particular, the conference will examine Canguilhem's complicated relationship to the vitalist tradition. The conference will also focus on the philosophy of science, with a particular focus on medicine, biology and historical epistemology. (en) L'Institut de la philosophie et des sciences religieuses et l'Institut de la philosophie de l'Académie des sciences organisent une conférence internationale, dont le sujet sera la pensée de Georges Canguilhem et son lieu en philosophie française du 20ème siècle. Le thème principal de la conférence sera le problème de la normativité de la vie selon Canguilhem ainsi que la distinction problématique du normal et l'anormal. L'autre problème traité a notre conférence concerne la méthodologie des sciences de la nature et la spéciﬁcité de la connaissance du vivant par rapport a celle de la nature brute. Nous interrogerons notamment la relation compliquée de Georges Canguilhem avec la tradition vitaliste. Notre colloque se propose également d'évaluer la contribution de Canguilhem a la philosophie de la science, avec un accent particulier sur la médecine, la biologie et l'épistémologie historique.
