Description	The article, based on the personal research as well as on that of a French historian Sophie Wahnich, examines the figure of %22the foreigner%22 or, more exactly, of the Other that has been retained in discourses of Czech and French prints during the French revolution. The primary question examining the role of the revolutionary event in the discourse formation of %22foreignness%22 is explained on the Czech example, which is treated in the first part, by the stimulant function of %22foreigner%22, becoming the %22enemy%22, against who the people, at the moment of its national renaissance, can define themselves. On the contrary, in the second part, the French case passes by two successive periods : initially, the revolutionary nation is based upon principles of universal humanism, where the figure of %22the foreigner%22 looks devoid of sense, whereas during the Terror, it tends to the politics of suspicion which creates from %22the foreigner%22 the incarnation of the anti-revolutionary Other inside the society, thus an agent of national discord. (en) L'article s'interroge sur la figure de l'étranger ou, plus précisément, celle de l'Autre telle qu'elle a été retenue, pendant la Révolution française, dans les discours des imprimés tchèques et français, se basant, d'une part, sur une recherche personnelle et, de l'autre, sur celle de l'historienne française Sophie Wahnich. Posée la question primaire du rôle de l'événement révolutionnaire dans la formation discursive de %22l'étrangeté%22, l'exemple tchèque, traité dans la première partie, sert a découvrir la fonction stimulante de l'%22étranger%22 identifié a l'%22ennemi%22, contre lequel le peuple, au moment de son réveil national, peut se délimiter. Dans la deuxième partie par contre, le cas français passe par deux stades successifs : d'abord, la nation révolutionnaire se fonde sur les principes de l'humanisme universel où la figure de %22l'étranger%22 paraît dépourvue de sens pour se retourner, sous la Terreur, vers une politique de suspicion qui fait de %22l'étranger%22 l'incarnation de l'Autre contre-révolutionnaire a l'intérieur de la société et, donc, agent de la discorde nationale.
