Description	The chapter presents results of focused research of the sculptural production in Cheb at the end of Middle Ages. The artistic center in Cheb showed - especially since c. 1450 - undoubtedly distinctive character and managed to come out soon from the category of artistic periphery. We see deep inner logic in the production, which corresponds to the vitality a self-consciousness of the prosperous late medieval city. Preferring of conservative styles is seen as a symptom of relatively short continuous tradition. (en) Příspěvek seznamuje s výsledky soustředěného výzkumu sochařské tvorby v Chebu na konci středověku. Umělecké centrum v Chebu neslo především od poloviny 15. století nepochybně výrazný osobitý charakter a velmi rychle se vymanilo z kategorie %22umělecké periferie%22. Shledáváme hlubokou vnitřní logiku a svébytnost, která odpovídá vitalitě a sebevědomí prosperujícího pozdně středověkého města. Obliba konzervativně laděných stylových projevů je asi příznakem poměrně krátké souvislé tradice.
