Description
  • The aims of this study were to extend knowledge of postnatal development of the pig immune system; to investigate the ability to induce immune responses to intramuscular, intradermal, intranasal and intratracheal administration of model antigen; to study in vitro the ability of lymphocytes in selected compartments of the pig body to be activated at different ages and to study transmission of immunity by colostrum. In accordance with other authors we confirmed that various constituents and functions of the systemic, skin and mucosal immune systems of piglets develop and change during the first days and weeks of life but in general the immune system is quite mature and able to respond to the administration of antigens. Colostrum-derived antibodies could also penetrate the mucosa of the respiratory tract in newborns. Not only humoral immunity, but also cell-mediated immunity could be transferred by colostrum.

  • Cílem studie bylo rozšířit vědomosti o postnatálním vývoji imunitního systému prasete; kvantifikovat schopnost indukovat imunitní odpověď na intramuskulárně, intradermálně, intranasálně a intratracheálně aplikovaný modelový antigen; studovat schopnost lymfocytů izolovaných z vybraných tělních kompartmentů v různém věku selete být in vitro aktivován a studovat přenos imunity kolostrem. Ve shodě s ostatními autory můžeme uzavřít, že některé komponenty a funkce systémového, kožního a slizničního imunitního systému selat se vyvíjí a mění v průběhu prvních dní a týdnů života, ale jako celek je imunitní systém celkem vyzrálý a schopný odpovědět na aplikaci antigenu. Kolostrem získané protilátky mohou přestupovat i na sliznici respiračního traktu novorozenců. Navíc nejen protilátková, ale také buňkami zprostředkovaná imunita může být přenesena kolostrem. (cs)
