Description	HG and LG lines were divergently selected for the shape of the growth curve during 10 generations. Their inter-line differences in the growth rate of the embryonic wing skeleton copied the growth of the embryo as a whole. Despite the similar final length of wing in both lines a higher percentage of ossified tissue in the LG wing indicated an accelerated maturation of LG line before hatching. This corresponds with an acceleration of the physiological maturation of LG line during postnatal life (earlier (earlier onset of sexual maturity observed after 6 generations of selection). HG and LG lines were divergently selected for the shape of the growth curve during 10 generations.
