Description
  • The site productivity was shown to be the most important factor of the winter wheat grain yields. It accounted for almost 80% in Greyic Phaeozem and only about 53 in Stagno-Gleyic Cambisol. On the contrary, the effect of mineral fertilisation was the highest in the Stagno-Gleyich Cambisol (up to about 39 %). The effect of weather conditions in individual years strongly differed in individual sites. While the dry and warm weather was advantageous in the higher altitude and Stagno-Gleyic Cambisol, it caused remarkable yield depression in the Chernozem and Phaeozem in sugar beet regions. The results have confirmed a complex effects and interactions among various factors that affect winter wheat grain yields.
