  • Bacteria Pseudomonas spp. harmful on cereals and grasses were investigated, focusing on Pseudomonas syringae. Fluorescent pseudomonads such as Pseudomonas syringae were found most frequently, but P. fluorescens, P. viridiflava and P. putida were also isolated. Approximately 70% of isolates recovered from plants were identified using microbial identification system BIOLOG BACTERIA to species level, but pathovars of P. syringae were not reliably identified. P. syringae pv. syringae strains were confirmed by serological and HR tests on tobacco. Rep-PCR method was applied to all 24 tested isolates and different genetic profiles were obtained. BOX, ERIC and REP primers were used for amplification of genomic DNA. All three sets of primers gave the same results and allowed discrimination of fingerprints into 7 different genotype groups.
