Description	Nowadays in our country extinction of landraces and old Czech vegetable cultivars takes place. They have been gradually replaced by much more efficient ones mostly of a hybrid type. Despite the former vegetable cultivars were unbalanced and did not reachhigh yields, nevertheless, they provided a great variability of traits and characters including resistance to certain diseases. That is why they become a valuable source of genes to be used in vegetable breeding. To have a survey of vegetable materialspreserved till now the stocktaking was carried out all over our territory so that the extinction of about 118 cultivars has been found. The whole number of vegetable materials preserved comprise 407 accessions now being maintained at the genebank in Olomouc.
