Description	The concentration of the estrogens 17b-estradiol, estriol, estrone, 17a-ethinylestradiol, mestranol and norethisterone and of the anthropogenic gadolinium have been determined in the creeks and rivers, sewage plants and water works of the city of Prague. The rapid degradation of the estrogens in surface water allows the estrogen concentration gradient to be used as a very precise and sensitive guideline by which to pin-point sewage leaks into surface runoff water. The conservative behaviour of Gd in surface and groundwater documents the presence of sewage water from hospitals in the surface water system. Rychlý rozklad estrogenů v povrchových vodách umožňuje, aby koncentrační gradient estrogenů byl použit jako velmi přesný a citlivý indikátor úniku městských splaškových vod do povrchové vody. Konzervativní chování Gd v povrchové a podzemní vodě dokumentuje přítomnost odpadní vody z nemocnic v systému povrchových vod. (cs)
