  • We demonstrate that the cannabinoid receptor CB1 is crucial for leukocyte infiltration and secondary fibroblast activation in experimental fibrosis and that inactivation of CB1 exerts potent anti-fibrotic effects. These findings might have direct translational implications because selective antagonists of CB1 that efficiently target CB1 in humans are available.
