  • Entomological collections were made in November 2003 during a French archaeological expedition to Vanikoro (Solomon Islands) in search of evidence on land and sea for what happened to Lapérouse (1785-1788). The geography, geology, climate and vegetation types of Vanikoro are briefly presented along with a summary of collections made. Among the Buprestidae, the subject of this paper, Maoraxia bourgeoisi sp. n. and Agrilus (Agrilus) funebris vanikorensis subsp. n. from Vanikoro are described, illustrated and compared with related species. Occurence of five other buprestid beetles from this island are commented and the biotopes in which they were collected are briefly described.

  • Entomologické sběry byly prováděny v listopadu 2003 během Francouzské archeologické expedice na ostrov Vanikoro (Šalomounovy ostrovy) s cílem zjistit na zemi i na moři, co se stalo s Lapérouseovou expedicí (1785-1788). Geografie, geologie, klima a vegetační typy ostrova Vanikoro jsou krátce shrnuty, spolu se seznamem jednotlivých sběrů. V rámci čeledi krascovitých (Buprestidae) jsou popsány Maoraxia bourgeoisi sp. n. a Agrilus (Agrilus) funebris vanikorensis subsp. n. , vyobrazeny a srovnány s příbuznými druhy. Je komentován výskyt dalších 5 zjištěných druhů krasců, spolu s popisy biotopů, kde byly sbírány. (cs)
