Description	Treatments for pulmonary arterial hypertension have been mainly studied in patients with advanced disease (WHO functional class [FC] III and IV). This study was designed to assess the effect of the dual endothelin receptor antagonist bosentan in patients with WHO FC II pulmonary arterial hypertension. Bosentan treatment could be beneficial for patients with WHO FC II pulmonary arterial hypertension. Treatments for pulmonary arterial hypertension have been mainly studied in patients with advanced disease (WHO functional class [FC] III and IV). This study was designed to assess the effect of the dual endothelin receptor antagonist bosentan in patients with WHO FC II pulmonary arterial hypertension. Bosentan treatment could be beneficial for patients with WHO FC II pulmonary arterial hypertension. (en) Studie EARLY (bosentan v léčbě PAH u pacientů WHO funkční třídy II) prokázala významný pokles plicní cévní rezistence, významný trend ke zlepšení zátěžové kapacity a významné prodloužení doby do klinického zhoršení stavu s poklesem počtu nemocných s přechodem do funkční třídy III/IV po šestiměsíčním podávání duálního antagonisty endotelinových receptorů bosentanu.
