Description	We have compared two systems of wastewater treatment. Groundfilters with vertical flow and constructed wetlands with a subsurface horizontal flow. Both systems are able to achieve satisfactory organics and suspended solids removals from diluted wastewaters. Inside the beds of groundfilters is ensured the ventilation, and therefore nitrification takes place. The nutrient removal efficiencies in both systems markedly decreases during a winter season. (en) Byly porovnány dva systémy čištění odpadních vod. Zemní filtry s vertikálním průtokem a kořenové čistírny s podpovrchovým horizontálním průtokem. Oba systémy dosáhly uspokojivých výsledků při odstraňování organického znečištění a nerozpuštěných látek. V zemních filtrech je zajištěno provzdušňování a proto zde nastává nitrifikace. Účinnost odstraňování nutrientů byla v obou případech v zimě výrazně nižší. (cs)
