  • In the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute four products are routinely calculated for the time accumulation of one hour (and more): 1.Quantitative precipitation estimates (QPE) derived from radar reflectivity by Marshall-Palmer formula. 2. Adjusted radar QPE obtained by multiplication of radar QPE with the adjustment coefficient. 3. combination of adjusted radar QPE with the raingauge measurements. 4. very short range quantitative precipitaion forecast (QPF)-COTREC based nowcasting method. Combination of adjusted radar QPE and raingauges exhibits reasonable accuracy of the time and spatial distribution of the rainfall. 3h COTREC QPF was tested in hydrological modeling and became a part of the operation routine for the forecast for some catchments. Nevertheless, the use of this QPF brings some issues. This paper tests the different methods of adjustment of QPF data-local bias, different length of time moving window etc.

  • V Českém hydrometeorologickém ústavu jsou operativně počítány čtyři kumulativní produkty pro jednu a více hodin:1.Kvantitativní odhad srážek (QPE) odvozený z dat radarové odrazivosti pomocí Marshall-Palmerova vztahu.2.Adjustovaná QPE vypočtená násobením QPE adjustačním koeficientem.3. kombinace produktu 2 a srážkoměrných měření. 4.velmi krátkodobá kvantitativní předpověď srážek(QPF)-metoda využívající algoritmus COTREC.Kombinace adjustované QPE a srážkoměrů vykazuje dobrou přesnost v čase a prostoru. 3h COTREC QPF byla testována v hydrologickém modelování a stala se součástí rutinních předpovědí pro některá povodí. Nicméně tento typ QPF s sebou přináší některé problémy. Tento příspěvek popisuje různé metody adjustace QPF. (cs)
