The surface exploitation of the Anthropos Institute in the region of Krumlovský les (SW of Brno) found new open-air site Moravský krumlov IV witn several archaeological layers from the Early Upper to Lower Palaeolithic Period. Stratified and dated artefacts enriche the palaeolithic collection of the Moravian Museum and they will be important for discussions about the Lower and early Upper Palaeolithic settlement in Central Europe. Povrchová prospekce ústavu Anthropos v oblasti Krumlovského lesa (JZ od Brna) objevila novou otevřenou lokalitu Moravský Krumlov IV s několika archeologickými vrstvami, datovanými do počátku mladého a do starého paleolitu. Stratifikované a datované nálezy obohatí sbírku Moravského zemského muzea a budou důležité i pro diskusi o osídlení ve zmiňovaných obdobích ve střední Evropě.
The research has justified the inclusion of the acquired artifacts – a major source of information on the manufacturing technologies of the dawning Late Paleolithic – in the paleolithic collections of the Anthropos Institute (Moravian Regional Museum). (en)
