Description
| - The National Museum, Prague, posesses one of the largest European collections of the vertebrate fauna of the Central Europe and Eastern Mediterranean (over 60000 voucher items). The collection has been systematically built by the staff of the Departmentof Zoology, National Museum, in the course of 19th and 20th century and its extraordinal scientific and documentary imprtance is indisputable. The main aim of the proposed project is : 1) a thorough revision and zoogeographical analysis of the stored material with the aim to document and quantify the dynamics in the range development of the selected amphibian, reptilian, bird and mammalian taxa, 2) examination of taxonomically interesting material and elucidation of the phylogenetic relations, sytematicsand nomenclature of the sudied taxa, 3) creation of an accesible database of the given collection and publication of catalogues of the selected vertebrate groups. - Národní museum v Praze spravuje jednu z největších evropských sbírek obratlovců střední Evropy a východního Středozemí (přes 60000 sbírkových předmětů). Sbírka byla systematicky budována pracovníky zoologického oddělení NM v průběhu 19. a 20. století a její vysoká vědecká a dokumentační hodnota je nesporná. Cílem předpokládaného projektu je: 1) podrobné zpracování a zoogeografická analysa sbírkových fondů s cílem dokumentovat a kvantifikovat synamiku vývoje areálů rozšíření vybraných taxonů obojživelníků, plazů, ptáků a savců, 2) vyšetření taxonomicky cenného materiálu a vyjasnění fylogenetických vztahů, systemtiky a nomenklatury studovaných taxonů, 3) příprava přístupné database sbírky a publikace katalogů vybraných skupin obratlovců.
