Description	The project is exceptional for the agricultural sector. It connects hydrological investigation on forest land with that on agricultural one in detail and in landscape whole. The project plans assembling long-term and short-term water balances in headwaters and in predominantly agricultural highland as areas with the most frequent origin of floods. It reflects climatic changes and it touches problems of dry periods in forest soil, especially adverse for spruce stands. It is interested in investigation of redistribution of soil water by tree root system of European beech (“hydraulic lift”) in favour of Norway spruce at various tree species mixture. It solves actual aspect of afforestation of recent drain agricultural lands. There is aspect of dryness at good functionality of drainage and on the contrary aspect of waterlogging at loss of drainage functionality in subsequence of tree root ingrowth.
