Description	In the recent past, Czech fish pond farming was subject to extensive intensification of production aimed at the maximal fish production. Incautious impacts based on excessive fertilization and subsequent (often completely inefficient) supplementary feeding of fish resulted in increasing trophy level but concurrently also to increasing organic matter content. Disproportionately high fish stocks lead to an intensive consumation of appropriate size zooplankton and to a considerable reduction of the nutrient potential transformation into the final product (fish). On the other hand, small unexploitable zooplankton species are excessively developed in hypertrophic ponds and their increased biomass affects negatively the oxygen regime, and hence fish digestive physiology, too. Recently, some undesirable phytoplankton species (various species of planktonic cyanobacteria in particular) overdevelop in ponds subjected to long-term strong fish grazing pressure.
