Description
  • The objective of presented project is incorporation of low lipoxygenase gene (LOX-1) into spring barley genotypes of malting barley for production of beer characterized by stabilized flavour and sensoric properties. For the production of genotypes classical and molecular methods will be used. Particularly as for genotype selection, it will be carried out by means of molecular markers. The new genotypes will be tested both for the economically important parameters and their behaviour in the brewery process on the base of trial brews – bench-scala apparatus. (en)

  • The project aim was to use barley resources carrying a gene for the reduction of the lipoxygenase enzyme and to apply classical and molecular methods to create barley genotypes which meet the current and future requirements of the malting and brewing industries. The work on the project developed in keeping with the phases planned and individual objectives were fulfilled. (en)
