| Description
| - Haemophilus parasuis is a naturally part of respiratory tract microflora. However, also it could be an etiological agent at respiratory syndrom, cause Glässer´s disease and/or saeptikaemia, as well. On the basis of surface antigens 15 serotypes with different virulence were described. The differences of virulence is also among individual isolates within serotypes. The virulence factors are still unknown. Despite this, it is possible differentiate virulent isolates from avirulent isolates by methods of molecular biology. The clinical symptoms of the disease are very variable and depend on virulence of isolate. Outbreak of disease caused of Haemophilus parasuis can be treated by antibiotics on the basis of the antibiogram. Passive immunization or vaccination is possible for prevention by using of commercial and autogenous vaccine. (en)
- Vypracovat metodiky diagnostiky, typizace a diferenciace izolátů H. parasuis, vyhodnotit metody profylaxe proti hemofilovým infekcím prasat a navrhnout modely účinných cílených kontrolních programů v chovech prasat.
