The ordinary dye fading process in an inkjet receiving layer is accompanied by an catalytic process during which the degradation products of one dye may cause the fading of another dye. This phenomenon is particularly important in the presence of ozone, even in very low concentrations. It takes place especially in modern materials for inkjet printing with microporous absorbent layer. Samples for experiments will be chosen from common commercial materials designed for professional inkjet printing of digital photographs. In this project, a process of accelerated ageing of digital photographs printed by inkjet technology will be studied on its own as well as in the presence of ozone. The degradation of printed dyes will be assessed spectrophotometerically and will be evaluated by modern chemometric methods. Kinetics of dye degradation in the receiving layer will be studied. The set of obtained results will enable to forecast the stability of digital photographs exposed to radiation and/or pollutants and (en)
Cílem projektu je zjištění interakcí záření a polutantů, zejména ozónu, s barvivy v přijímací vrstvě digitálních fotografií.
Practices for accelerated and long-term ageing evaluation were designed. This method allowed to identify and quantify the catalytic effect arising during inkjet prints ageing. (en)
