The project is aimed at the development of methods of theoretical analysis and numerical modelling of linear, nonlinear and nonreciprocal optical effects in dielectric as well as plasmonic guided-wave structures and photonic crystals. We also plan to develop theoretical models. The main purpose of this effort is to contribute to general physical understanding of new relevant phenomena in such systems from the point of view of their potential technical applications. (en)
Vývoj teoretických a numerických metod pro popis nových vlastností nereciprokých vlnovodných a periodických struktur. Pomocí teoretických modelů a numerických simulací chceme přispět k poznání klíčových mechanizmů souvisejícich se zkoumanými jevy.
We have shown that the structure formed by metal/2D magnetooptic photonic crystal interface allows to achieve sufficiently wide one-way frequency range in the presence of relatively small magnetic field ~10 mT. Fourier analysis of the EM energy density in the presence of external time-dependent magnetic field reveals the existence of new phenomena which can be harnessed e.g. for light trapping. (en)
Ukázali jsme, že na struktuře tvořené rozhraním kov/2D magnetoopický fotonický krystal je možné dosáhnout dostatečně široké jednocestné frekvenční pásmo v přítomnosti nízké intensity externího mg. pole ~10 mT. Na základě analýzy fourierovského spektra hustoty EM energie v přítomnosti externího časově závislého mg. pole jsme nalezli nové fyzikální efekty, využitelné např. pro zachycení EM záření. (cs)
