| Description
| - Structural design and assessment of existing structures should consider extreme events including accidental impacts, gas explosions, fire, flooding and extreme climatic actions. Mostly, failures of structures exposed to the extreme events may hardly be completely prevented. However, consequences of the extreme event in case of sufficiently robust structures may be significantly reduced. Recent structural collapses in the Czech Republic and abroad indicate an urgent need for the development of methods for structural robustness assessment. The submitted project, based on multilateral collaboration amongst European research institutions involved in the COST Action TU0601, aims to improve the robustness assessment methods using recent scientific findings in the theory of reliability, risk analysis and probabilistic cost optimisation. Available information concerning response of structures under extreme events will be critically reviewed and practical methods for the robustness assessment will be develope (en)
- Vypracuje se a zpřístupní metodika hodnocení robustnosti stavebních konstrukcí v návaznosti na nové poznatky teorie spolehlivosti, hodnocení rizik a pravděpodobnostní optimalizace nákladů. Připraví se podklady pro národní přílohy a revize Eurokódů.

| - The project OC08059 (2008-2011) has been aimed at improvements of assessment of structural robustness using reliability and risk analysis and cost optimisations. Outcomes of COST Action TU0601 have been utilised. The project results include background information for standardisation, journal and conference papers, software tools and seminar for practical engineers. (en)
- Projekt OC08059 (2008-2011) byl zaměřen na zdokonalení metod hodnocení robustnosti s využitím poznatků teorie spolehlivosti, hodnocení rizik a optimalizace nákladů. Využily se poznatky Akce COST TU0601. Výstupy projektu zahrnují články v časopisech, příspěvky na konferencích, odbornou publikaci JCSS, seminář a softwarové pomůcky pro projektanty a podkladové materiály pro standardizaci. (cs)
