The major tasks of the project are to describe effects of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) on the intra- and extracellular generation of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS) by resting and activated phagocytes, to investigate effects of phagocytes stimulated with compounds simulating bacterial or viral infection on the lipid peroxidation, and to analyse possibilities how to prevent peroxidation of PUFAs with new synthetic/natural antioxidants prepared/isolated in cooperating institutions. Obtained results will contribute to the current knowledge on interactions of RONS and other phagocyte mediators with PUFAs during chronic inflammation. Results will support formulation of outcomes and introduction of procedures leading to improvement of diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory diseases. (en)
Poskytnout originální informace o vlivu nemodifikovaných a oxidativně modifikovaných n-3 a n-6 vysoce nenasycených mastných kyselin na funkce profesionálních fagocytů, zejména na intra- a extracelulární tvorbu reaktivních metabolitů kyslíku a dusíku.
Ve výsledcích projektu shrnutých do dvou publikací je ukázán vliv ω-3 a ω-6 vysoce nenasycených mastných kyselin a produktů jejich peroxidace na tvorbu reaktivních metabolitů kyslíku a dusíku fagocyty. (cs)
