Description
  • Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) obtains the possibility to induce metabolic changes in a relatively small area of the cerebral cortex. The effect of rTMS on negative and cognitive symptons in schizophrenia with respect to the frequenc In a double-blind, 3 week with 2 week follow up randomized study we will evaluate the effect of rTMS in 3 groups: N=20 for 20Hz, N=20 for 1 Hz and N=10 for placebo stimulation. We will measure psychopathology and outcome using cognitive tests. By the use of functional magnetic resonance (fMR) we will verify that rTMS significantly improves the activity in prefrontal cortex with respect to parameters of stimulation and clinical symptoms.   • Repetitivní transkraniální magnetická stimulace (rTMS) selektivně ovlivňuje aktivitu a metabolismus v místě aplikace. Bude testován efekt rTMS na negativní příznaky a kognitivní funkce u schizofrenie v závislosti na frekvenci (1 Hz, 20 Hz a placebo). Ve dvojitě slepé randomizované studii (3 týdny) bude sledován efekt různé frekvence rTMS ve 3 skupinách nemocných schizofrenií: N=20 pro 20 Hz, N=20 pro 1 Hz a N=10 pro placebo stimulaci. Hodnocena bude psychopatologie a výkon v kognitivních testech. Metodou funkční magnetické rezonance (fMR) ověříme předpoklad, že rTMS skutečně ovlivňuje míru aktivity prefrontálního kortexu v závislosti na parametrech stimulace rTMS a na změně psychopatologie.
