Description
  • The primary objectives of this research effort are to understand some of the basic mechanisms by which plants and rhizosphere bacteria contribute to the removal of persistent organic chemicals, to identify in molecular terms the biocatalytic processes inherent to biodegradation performed by diverse, indigenous organisms and the diversity of biota involved in degradation of persistent halogenated and aromatic organic priority pollutants in environments with emphasis on soils. This approach will provide new insights into molecular microbial biodiversity and its changes within different environmental conditions in order to optimize conditions for degradation of xenobiotics.   • Byla stanovena fylogenetická diversita kontaminované zeminy z lokality Lhenice. Byla provedena pyrosekvenační analýza taxonomicky významných i funkčních genů klíčových pro odbourávání bifenylu a PCB. Dále bylo zjištěno, které bakteriální populace se podílejí na odbourávání xenobiotik přítomných v zemině. Mikrobiální analýzy z loňských let byly doplněny o kvantitativní analýzu diversity. (cs)
  • Phylogenetic diversity was analyzed in the contaminated soil from Lhenice. Pyrosequencing analysis of taxonomically-relevant genes was performed along with the analysis of functional genes essential for the degradation of biphenyl and PCB. Bacterial populations involved in degradation of xenobiotics were identified. Microbial analyses were supplemented with quantitative diversity analyses. (en)
