Description	The project objective is upgrade of one of 27 instruments in ILL, the triple-axis slow-neutron spectrometer IN14, which will be replaced by the novel instrument ThALES. IN14 has been installed in mid-eighties of the 20th century and it still represents a world top in the relevant field of research. IN14 is still one of the most demanded instruments in ILL with a high measuring time demand overhang (by a factor of 3) and regular production of valuable results in highly prestigious fields of condensed matter physics, as the quantum magnetism and physics of strongly correlated electron systems. The principal goal of the project is the construction and installation of the instrument ThALES with word unique parameters, which enables ILL and its community members maintaining the world leading position in the scientific competition in the next decades. ThALES will bring an important contribution to the field of (nano)magnetic and spin systems, in which application of magnetic fields up to 15 T over the entire neutron energy range and high intensity (improving the parameters well beyond these of IN 14) play the key role. (en) Předmětem projektu je obnova jednoho z 27 instrumentů ILL, tříosého spektrometru pomalých neutronů IN14, který bude nahrazen nově vybudovaným zařízením ThALES. IN14 byl instalován v polovině 80. let 20. století a dosud představuje světovou špičku ve svém oboru. IN14 je stále jedním z nejžádanějších instrumentů ILL s vysokým a trvalým převisem poptávky na měřící čas (faktor 3x) a s pravidelnou produkcí hodnotných výsledků ve vysoce prestižních oborech fyziky kondenzovaných látek, jakými jsou kvantový magnetismus a fyzika systémů s vysoce korelovanými elektrony. Cílem projektu je vybudovat a instalovat zařízení ThALES se světově unikátními parametry, které napomůže ILL a jeho členské komunitě udržet vedoucí pozici ve světové konkurenci v příštích desetiletích. Důležitý je zejména jeho přínos v oblasti studia (nano)magnetických a spinových systémů, kde hraje zásadní roli možnost použití magnetických polí do 15 T v téměř celém rozsahu energií a vysoká intenzita polarizovaného svazku (přesahující dosavadní nepolarizovaný IN14).
