Description
  • There is a growing need for biomarkers of myocardial damage that can be used for early detection and prognostication of heart failure (HF). One of promising candidates is troponin that can be detected with novel ultrasensitive assays in many subjects with preclinical heart disease. The main hypothesis of our project is that sensitivity of troponin assays and its prognostic value can be enhanced by stressing the heart, for example by an exercise or an electric impulse. The project specifically aims: A) to characterize determinants of the troponin dynamics in HF patients undergoing exercise stress test B) to describe dynamics and prognostic role of troponin release after an ICD discharge in patients with HF and to conduct molecular characterization of released troponin species. C) to identify diagnostic biomarkers suitable for early detection of HF patients preserved systolic function undergoing invasive hemodynamic study. (en)

Charakterizace a prognostický význam uvolnění troponinu po defibrilačním výboji pacientů se srdečním selháním a ICD. Cíl 3: Identifikace diagnostických biomarkerů srdečního selhání se zachovanou ejekční frakcí levé komory.
