Description	To compare medieval pluzina landscapes in the Czech Republic with analogical hedgerow landscapes in Massachusetts and other states of the USA, their dynamics and factors behind their disappearance. Approaches to the conservation of these landscapes in both countries. Possible means of dating both types of landscape. Ecological and landscape-ecological functions of these landscapes. Perception of aesthetic and other functions of hedgerow landscapes by various types of their users, the potential of these landscapes for eco-tourism. The impact of hedgerows in these landscapes on soil erosion, on retention and accumulation functions of the landscape. (en) Porovnat středověké plužiny v ČR a analogické krajiny se živými ploty v Massachusetts a jiných státech USA, jejich dynamiku a faktory, které mají vliv na jejich mizení nebo zachování. Přístupy k ochraně těchto krajin v obou zemích. Způsoby a možnosti datace obou typů krajin, jejich ekologické a krajinně-ekologické funkce. Vnímání estetických a jiných hodnot krajin s živými ploty/mezními pásy jejich uživateli, potenciál těchto krajin pro ekoturistiku. Vliv mezních pásů a živých plotů na erozi půd a retenční a akumulační funkci krajiny.
