Description	Norway spruce is a species of considerable ecological and economical importance. Degrative processes of forest decline have been widely studied, but principles of regenerative processes are not clearly understood in spite of their crucial importance for tree health recovery. Macroscopic criterion for detection of branch growth potential applied on the shoots growing during last 30 seasons will answer question about tree life history and dynamics of degradative and regenerative processes, what can contribute to understanding of forest reaction on a complex influence of stress factors. Project focuses in detail on principles of bud formation and growth using bud anatomical analysis and morphological analysis of vascular bud/shoot traces of shoot segments. Getting deeper insight into understanding regeneration processes is important for forestry management, e.g. for identification of resistant or resilient ecotypes and of turning point in development of damaged forests stands. (en) Smrk ztepilý je druhem výrazného ekonomického a ekologického významu. V procesu chřadnutí lesních ekosystémů byly široce studovány degradační proces, zatímco principem regeneračních procesů koruny dosud není plně porozuměno, přestože jsou klíčově významné pro zlepšení zdravotního stavu stromu. Makroskopické kritérium pro určení růstového potenciálu větve aplikované na přírůsty větvr během posledních 30 let zodpoví otázky o životní historii stromu a dynamice degradačních a regeneračních procesů, což může přispět k porozumění reakce lesních porostů na komplexní působení stresových faktorů. Projekt je zaměřený na principy tvorby a růstu pupenů a výhonů s použitím anatomické analýzy pupenů a morfologické analýzy cévních stop pupenů a výhonů. Hlubší porozumění regeneračních procesů je důležité pro lesní management, např. pro identifikaci rezistentních a rezilientních ekotypů a detekcí zvratového bodu ve vývoji poškozených lesních porostů.
