Description	Metabolic syndrome X is a very frequent disorder (e.g., in USA: 20-25% of the population) increasing the risk of atherogenesis; however, its pathophysiology is not understood due to the absence of an adequate animal model. For detailed analysis of the mechanisms underlying the syndrome, rat models available on our laboratory, enabling, in contrast to human studies, use of radioisotopes, and tissues sampling for in vitro experiments will be used. (en) Metabolickř syndrom X je velmi Ŕastou poruchou, postihujÝcÝ a× Ŕtvrtinu populace a vřrazný zvyÜujÝcÝ riziko aterosklerosy. Patofysiologie mechanism¨ syndromu nenÝ znßma, vzhledem k chybýnÝ experimentßlnÝho modelu, co× ztý×uje racionßlnÝ intervenci. Pro analřzu patofysiologickřch mechanism¨ metabolickÚho syndromu X bude pou×ito experimentßlnÝch model¨, umo×˛ujÝcÝch detailnÝ analřzy týchto pochod¨ na ˙rovni izolovanřch tkßnÝ nebo bunýk.
