| Description
| - The project is aimed to study and evaluate extensive materials of parasitic nematodes (Nematoda) from fishes and some other aquatic vertegrates of the Neotropical Region, particularly from Mexico, Brazil and Venezuela, occasionally also of other tropical or subtropical regions (Japan, South Africa), which were or are obtained within the existing unofficial international co-operation. The principal investigator is a supervisor of 2 Mexican postgraduate students of the Institute of Parasitology, ASCR, and a supervisor-specialist of 1 Duch postgraduate student conducting ichthyoparasitological research in Costa Rica, following co-operation with them will be a part of this project. Attention will also be paid to the nematodes of aquarium fishjes imported from these regions. This project is expected not only to contribute to the recognition of the fauna of neotropical nematodes, but also to the general knowledge of this parasite group. (en)
- Záměrem projektu je zpracování a vyhodnocení rozsáhlých materiálů rybích a dalších hlístic (Nematoda) z Neotropické oblasti, především Mexika, Brazílie a Venezeuely, příp. i dalších tropických nebo subtropických oblastí (Japonsko, JAR), které byly a jsou průběžně získávány v rámci neoficiální mezinár. spolupráce. Navrhovatel je školitelem 2 mexických vědeckých aspirantů Parazitologického ústavu AV ČR a školitelem-specialistou 1 holandského doktoranda provádějícího ichtyoparazitologické výzkumy v Kostarice, následná spolupráce s nimi bude součástí projektu. Pozornost bude věnována hlísticím akvarijních ryb importovaným z těchto oblastí. Lze očekávat, že tento projekt nejen významně přispěje k poznání fauny neotropických a dalších hlístic, ale i k celkové znalosti této skupiny parazitů, zahrnující řadu původců onemocnění hospodářsky významných obratlovců a člověka.
