Description	The suggested research project focus on the Sovietization of Academies of Sciences and the transformation of the research landscape after the WW II, especially after the communist take-over in Czechoslovakia, Poland and Eastern Germany. The research is to be carried out along three lines;it will concentrate on:1) the transformation of research priorities after the WW II (abandonment of old models, enforcement of new priorities,etc.);2) the setting up of new institutions: Academies of Sciences (the problem of continuity and discontinuity with previous institutions, new paradigms, etc.);3) Academies as instruments of ideology (profiles of their founders, influence of Communist Parties and their committees on the functioning of Academies,etc.). Special attention will be paid to the problem of to what extent we can consider increasing political pressure on new research infrastructures in Central Europe as a direct consequence of Sovietization and to what extent was Sovietization replaced by self-Sovietization. The project will result in a monograph summarising the above-mentioned issues. (en) Cílem projektu je zaměřit se na okolnosti a pozadí vzniku Akademií věd ve střední Evropě v 50.letech 20.století a na příkladu komparace Československa, NDR a Polska poukázat na hlavní znaky počáteční sovětizace a ideologizace vědy v tomto prostoru. Výzkum se soustředí na tři zásadní oblasti: 1) na proměnu vědní politiky po ukončení války a po nástupu komunistů k moci (viz problém upuštění od meziválečných vzorů, nahrazení novými vzory, institucionalizace nových typů vědecké infrastruktury, etc.); 2) na etablování nových institucí – Akademií věd - v jednotlivých vědeckých obcích (viz problém kontinuity a diskontinuity různých typů institucí, proměnu vědeckých priorit, etc.), 3) na ideologizační funkci Akademií věd (profil jejich zakladatelů, vliv komunistických stran a ideologických aparátů na chod Akademií, etc.). Zvláštní pozornost bude věnována problému sovětizace a sebesovětizace vědy v 50.letech 20.století. Výstupem projektu bude monografické zpracování tématu v angličtině.
