Description	The project focuses on the analysis of historiographic narration from the viewpoint of literary theory. Primarily, it deals with Palacký’s The History, but also with the adjoining “gravitation field“ of both historiographic and artistic representations of national history. The project aims to delimit the narrative types in Czech historiography. Above all, it focuses on a historian’s work with “characters” of historiographic narrative, the structure of the historiographic plot, handling of historical and narrative time and the status of a historical event. It also analyses the mutual relations between historiographic narrative and historical fiction while touching on political rhetoric and the primarily ideological narrative about history.The narratological analyses will be used as the basis for reflections on the process which constitutes the historical memory of nation as a collectively shared imagined community. As the final output the project should provide the analyses and description of the narrative structures (memory figures) which constituted the modern Czech nation. (en) Projekt je zaměřen na analýzu dějepisného vyprávění z perspektivy literární teorie. V popředí zájmu stojí především Palackého Dějiny. Naratologický rozbor se však zaměří i na přilehlé gravitační pole historiografických i uměleckých reprezentací národních dějin. Projekt si klade za cíl vymezení narativních typů v rámci české historiografie. Zaměří se především na práci historika s postavou dějepisného vyprávění, na strukturu historiografické zápletky, na práci s historickým časem a časem vyprávění, na statut historické události. Analyzován bude též vzájemný vztah mezi historiografickým vyprávěním a historickou fikcí, s přesahy k politické rétorice a k primárně ideologickému vyprávění o dějinách.Výstupy naratologických analýz budou dále využity pro reflexi procesu konstituování historické paměti národa jako kolektivně sdíleného společenství představ. Finálním výstupem by měla být analýza a popis narativních struktur (vzpomínkových figur), jež konstituovaly historickou paměť moderního českého národa.

The main meaning of the project is in the fact that the project touches the boundary areas of the various disciplines of the social sciences. The output meet the project plan.
