Description	The main subject matter of this project is a critical analysis of the new epigraphic evidence concerning the history of the province of Samaria (central Palestine) from the end of the Persian period to the Roman period. These new discoveries throw light on the origin of Samaritan community and its early political and religious history in Palestine. The new epigraphic discoveries will be analysed with special regard to linguistics and palaeography on the one hand and archaeology, numismatics and ancient historiographical and biblical literature on the other hand. (en) Podstatou grantového projektu je kritická analýza nových epigrafických nálezů týkajících se dějin provincie Samaří (střední Palestina) od konce doby perské po dobu římskou. Tyto nové objevy podstatně objasňují vznik Samaritánské komunity a její ranné politické a náboženské dějiny v Palestině. Nové epigrafické nálezy budou analyzovány se zvláštním zřetelem na lingvistiku a paleografii na jedné straně a na archeologii, numizmatiku a starověkou historiografickou a biblickou literaturu na straně druhé.
