Description
  • The project connects on a grant GA103/06/0685 %22Plain and reinforced lightweight structural fibre-concretes%22 and aimed at analysis of characteristics of cement composites made from lightweight aggregates. The results of solution will extend the information about lightweight concrete by the field of origin and development of cracks in the setting and hardening phase. In the concrete structures origin the cracks, that can occur either on the surface of entire cross-section. In both cases not only static and deformation parameters of a structure are negatively influenced but also the serviceability of a member decreases. The source of the cracks can be volume changes of concrete and also the loading effects. With connection of lightweight aggregates utilisation it is also necessary to consider the influence of water content in the aggregate grains. The water can act either positively as a source for long-term hydration of cement or negatively, when freezing in the grains and by that enlarge the risk of the cracks origin both on the surface and inside a structure.
