Description	Materials Engineering is a wide and rapidly developing inter-disciplinary stream of science based on extensive use of computational modeling and numerical analysis. Therefore, it is virtually impossible for a single Ph.D. student to cover the whole range of problems associated with the design and assessment of new materials. The goal of the proposed project is to initiate and stimulate cooperation among Ph.D. students specialized in different aspects of Materials Engineering, which will result in series of Ph.D. theses ranging from the mathematics to experimentally-oriented works. The involved Ph.D. students will have the opportunity to acquire additional knowledge from related disciplines. In the course of the proposed project, the students will cooperate with the leading specialist in the involved research branch. It is assumed that participation in the project will allow a student to start an independent research career. Moreover, the cooperation within a group will result in intensive exchange of knowledge. The project will be managed by an experienced group of researchers. (en) Materiálové inženýrství je široký a rychle se rozvíjející interdisciplinární obor využívající počítačové modelování i experimentální analýzu. Není prakticky možné, aby téma jedné dizertační práce pokrylo celou problematiku návrhu nebo posouzení nového materiálu. Cílem předkládaného projektu je umožnit spolupráci mezi doktorandy z různých oborů, jejichž témata dizertačních prací se částečně překrývají. Vznikne tak sled prací od aplikovaně matematických až po čistě laboratorní. Tím si doktorandi rozšíří znalosti z příbuzných oborů a zároveň budou mít možnost se seznámit s celou šíří materiálového inženýrství a se svou pozicí v něm. Studenti se v průběhu řešení projektu seznámí s předními odborníky v zastoupených oborech. Nabyté zkušenosti a znalosti umožní absolventům doktorského studia začít samostatnou vědeckou práci. Kromě toho dojde v rámci projektu k výměně znalostí mezi jednotlivými obory. Projekt bude řízen vedením týmu.
