Description
| - The main aim of the project is to evaluate the efficiency of a novel synthetic Mn oxide for metal/metalloid immobilization in contaminated soils. The stabilization properties of the Mn oxide will be compared with other common methods, such as zerovalent Fe, phosphates, compost and phytostabilization. The project's aim will be achieved using a multi-disciplinary approach involving the use of chemical and mineralogical methods combined with plant experiments. The Mn oxide will be precisely characterized and its long-term stability in soils will be evaluated. Batch experiments will be performed in order to evaluate the influence of the stabilization amendments on metal/metalloid retention in the studied soils and in time. During three consecutive years, pot, rhizobox and in situ field experiments using common agricultural plants will be performed in order to evaluate the influence of the Mn oxide (including combinations with other amendments) on metal/metalloid uptake by the crops. - Hlavním cílem projektu je posoudit účinnost nového syntetického oxidu Mn jako imobilizačního činidla pro kovy a polokovy v kontaminovaných zemědělských půdách. Stabilizační vlastnosti oxidu Mn budou porovnány s běžně používanými metodami, jako např. elementární Fe, fosforečnany, kompost a fytostabilizace. Cíle projektu bude dosaženo kombinací chemických, mineralogických metod a experimentů s rostlinami. Oxid Mn bude detailně charakterizován a bude posouzena jeho dlouhodobá stabilita v půdách. Vliv studovaných stabilizačních činidel na retenci kovů/polokovů v půdách v čase bude posouzen pomocí rovnovážných vsádkových experimentů. Pomocí nádobových a polních experimentů a rhizoboxů bude v průběhu tří let popsán vliv oxidu Mn (samotného a v kombinaci s dalšími stabilizačními činidly) na příjem kovů/polokovů zemědělskými plodinami.
