Description	The global climate system displays certain changes which at present are characterized by a warming, which implies other environmental processes and may affect human life. As a part of research we have been running an experimental monitoring site since 1994, monitoring subsurface temperatures at shallow depths to assess the magnitude of that warming. The existing arrangement urgently needs a thorough reconstruction and modernization. We propose to drill a new borehole site to further maintain the successful previous activities and ensure the continuation of the project. The interpretation of the monitored data series will be completed by a detailed investigation of the air-soil temperature coupling in relation to various surface types. Together with the regional borehole temperature inversion studies, the results are important to understand the recent climate history on the territory of the Czech Republic and to provide information for the climate projection of the nearest future also in relation to the potential effect of the industrial pollution. (en) Současný klimatický systém vykazuje určité známky oteplování, které dále ovlivňují řadu přírodních jevů. Pro kvantitativní popis probíhajících změn a rozlišení přirozené variability klimatu včetně možného antropogeního příspěvku je třeba získat vedle meteorologických dat i nezávislé informace a posoudit změnu klimatu v její vazbě na okolní prostředí. V projektu navrhujeme pokračování úspěšného projektu (tzv. vrtné klimatologie), založeného na monitorování podpovrchových teplot. Navazujeme na předchozí práce s cílem modernizovat techniku snímání a zabezpečit pokračování projektu vybudováním nového opěrného bodu. Srovnání geotermických a meteorologických dat bude doplněno modelováním časového vývoje podpovrchového teplotního pole na území České republiky s přihlédnutím k charakteru krajiny (kvality povrchu) a vlivu existujících zátěží životního prostředí.
