The neutron diffraction and acoustic emission (AE) techniques have been found as excellent in-situ methods for study deformation processes in metals. The advantage of both methods consist in giving information from entire volume in real time, contrary to the e.g. microscopy or electron backscattered diffraction methods, where only a small volume of the specimen is investigated in post-mortem state. The micromechanisms of plastic deformation of magnesium-based alloys are intensively studied for many years. Nevertheless, the influence of alloying elements and initial texture on mechanical properties is not fully understood yet. The main aim of the proposed project is using neutron diffraction and acoustic emission for in-situ investigation of deformation processes of magnesium alloys with various composition and initial texture. The results of the project should issue in the explanation of the influence of alloy composition and preferential orientation on tension-compression asymmetry, critical stress of twin nucleation and pseudoelastic hysteresis during cyclic loading. Hlavním cílem navrženého projektu je použití in-situ neutronové difrakce a akustické emise ke studiu deformačních procesů slitin hořčíku různého chemického složení a s různou počáteční texturou. Získané výsledky by měly umožnit vysvětlení vlivu chemického složení a textury na asymetrii tah-tlak, na kritické napětí nukleace dvojčat a na pseoudoelastickou hysterezi v průběhu cyklického namáhání.
The aim of the project was to study the deformation processes of magnesium alloys with different mechanical stresses using neutron diffraction and acoustic emissions . Was studied deformation mechanisms dependence on chemical composition and temperature. The basic objectives of the project were met . However publications relative to the size of the team is low. (cs)
