| - The project dealswith generalization of existing theory of moment invariants, with derivation ofnew invariants for object description and recognition, with proposal of stableand efficient numerical algorithms for their computation, and with theirsoftware implementation in a form of MATLAB toolbox. Theoretical part covers a designof invariants to image blurring as well as to geometric degradations of images.The first category is represented by invariants to convolution defined both inspatial and in frequency domain, where space domain invariants are intendedmainly for binary object recognition while frequency domain invariants are moresuitable for graylevel and color image matching. Geometrical invariance shoulddeal with images, deformed by elastic transformation (invariants in theimplicit form) or by 3D affine transform. Numerical algorithms for invariants willemploy orthogonal polynomials and proper recurrent relations. Possible new areasof moment invariants application will be searched out and thoroughly studied. - Projekt se zabývá zobecněním současnéteorie momentových invariantů, odvozením nových invariantů pro popis objektů a jejich rozpoznávání, dále paknávrhem stabilních a efektivních algoritmů pro jejich výpočet a jejichsoftwarovou implementací ve formě toolboxu pro MATLAB. Teoretická část zahrnujenávrh invariantů pro obrazová data, která jsou radiometricky či geometrickypoškozena. První kategorie se zabýváinvarianty ke konvoluci, definované v obrazové a ve frekvenční oblasti.Geometrické invarianty budou poskytovat invarianci vzhledem k elastickýmdeformacím (implicitní invarianty) nebo vzhledem k 3D afinní transformaci.Numerické algoritmy pro výpočet invariantů budou využívat ortogonální polynomya vhodné rekurentní relace pro jejich vyčíslování. Pro nově odvozené invariantyprozkoumáme jejich možné použitív praktických úlohách rozpoznávání.

| - The project clearly contributed to the state-of-the-art in moment invariants. The theoretical results presented in published papers give the important basis for their further development towards practical applications. The output of the project includes twelve journal articles, which is highly above average, even if the (large) size of the project is considered. (en)
- Projekt se zabýval studiem momentových invariantů, zejména po teoretické stránce. Publikované výsledky bude možno využít v řadě různých oborů. Dávají důležitý základ pro další práci směrem k jejich uplatnění v praktických aplikacích. Mezi výstupy je 12 časopiseckých článků, což je významně nadprůměrný výsledek, i když zohledníme větší rozsah projektu. (cs)
