German scientific and educational centres in Bohemia were established in the first half of the 19 century in centres of civil service and church administration. Industrialisation brought new centres (Liberec, Ústí n L.). Apart from economic and social structures, cultural and educational structures cropped up.This field has been researched, however, there has been no comparative study yet. Change of image of Prague as a centre of German research and culture in Bohemia was reflected by plans to transfer some university sites to German areas.There used to be a library study of German University in Ústí n. L., agriculture department of German Polytechnic used to be based in Děčín-Libverda. Liberec institutions became gradually more significant, the Institute for Sudetenland Homeland Studies, since 1939 the Sudetenland Institute for the Reserach of the State and National Studies, research is to be a part of the project. The project is to contribute not only to scientific knowledge pursued by German corporations in Bohemia but to correct some misconceptions published in some German literature. Cílem projektu je zmapování vědeckých a vzdělávacích center Němců v Čechách (zejména Sudetoněmeckého ústavu pro výzkum země a národovědu) v 19. a ve 20. století (do r. 1945) a jejich zařazení do komparativního přehledu se vztahem k přeshraničním německým oblastem i pražskému centru.
