Description
  • This project supposes to edit the monograph Karel Zahradník (1848-1916). In the 19th century Karel Zahradník was an important Czech mathematician. He taught at the Czech secondary schools in Prague, at the University in Zagreb and Czech technical university in Brno. He produced about 100 scientific a popularizing articles, textbooks and monographs which were published in Czech, German, Croatian and French languages. He made significant contribution to the development of Croatian mathematics, so it is not surprising that he is very well-konw in Croatia but he is almost forgotten in the Czech republic. The project supposes large research works in Czech and Croatian archives and libraries. The monograph will have an interdisciplinar character and it can be used by people who are interested in history of Czech and Croatian scientific and cultural development in the 19th century. Without the finacial support the monograph will not be published. (en)
