| Description
| - Regional differentiation and the ever-deepening space polarization as part of the core-periphery dichotomy has been an important phenomenon during the transformation period in the Czech Republic on different regional levels. Due to equalizationtendencies during the totalitarian regime, peripheral regions keep lagging more and more behind core regions. The proposed project tries to link selected theories (e.g. the core-periphery theory in the so-called Friedmann's model, the power pyramidtheory, or the core-periphery dichotomy concept) with specific region-localized problems in the peripheral regions of the Czech Republic. The objectives of the project are as follows: to recognize and to define the mechanisms of space polarization in theCR, to prepare a typology of peripheral regions based on statistical data and data from micro-regional analysis of model regions, to evaluate the role of the state adminsitration and government as part of the regional development support and in respect (en)
- Diferenciace území a prohlubující se polarizace prostoru v dichotomii jádro-periferie jsou významným jevem v transformačním období Česka, a to v různých řádovostních úrovních regionů. Po nivelizačních tendencích v období totalitního režimu zaznamenávajíperiferní oblasti stále výraznější zaostávaní za oblastmi jádrovými. Navrhovaný projekt usiluje o provázání vybraných teorií (např. teorie jádro- periferie v tzv. Friedmannově modelu, teorie %22pyramidy moci%22 či dichotomický koncept vnímání center aperiferií) s konkrétními územně lokalizovanými problémy v periferních regionech Česka. Mezi cíle projektu patří: poznat a pojmenovat mechanizmy polarizace prostoru v ČR, vypracovat typologii periferních oblastí na základě statistických dat a dat zmikroregionální analýzy modelových území, zhodnotit roli státní správy a samosprávy v rámci podpory regionálního rozvoje a v souvislostech evropské integrace, zpracovat geografický informační systém vztahující se k periferním oblastem Česka, vytvořit
