Description	Present project is aimed at the research on particular depictions in Tibetan Buddhism from the perspective of Academic Study of Religions. It includes new and more detailed description of the Tibetan and Mongolian items in the Collection of Asian Art, National Gallery in Prague. After such descriptive part, studies of selected particular depictions will be carried on. Such studies firstly attempt to see them within the context of their own religious tradition and then in the wider context of Asia or various traditions of Buddhism. At least six studies will be part of the outcome of the project. This particular research will be echoed in the monography with preliminary title Deities of Tibetan Buddhism and their depictions which on the basis of particular research approach the typology of depictions and deities. The paticipants in the project are specialists from two universties and the National Gallery in Prague. (en) Předkládaný projekt je zaměřený na studium jednotlivých zobrazení tibetského buddhismu z religionistické perspektivy. Zahrnuje nový a podrobnější popis tibetských a mongolských předmětů Sbírky orientálního umění Národní galerie v Praze. Po této deskriptivní fázi přicházejí na řadu studie jednotlivých vybraných zobrazení, které se je snaží zasadit nejprve hlouběji do kontextu daného náboženství a poté do širšího kontextu daného zobrazení v Asii či v buddhismech jiných tradic. Z této badatelské práce vzejde jako výstup minimálně šest studií. Takové dílčí studie se odrazí i monografii s pracovním názvem Božstva tibetského buddhismu a jejich zobrazení, která se na základě jednotlivých studií pokusí o typologizaci jednotlivých zobrazení i božstev.Projekt zahrnuje pracovníky ze dvou univerzit a Národní galerie.

Byla odstraněna řada omylů a nepřesností v popisu jednotlivých předmětů. Zhruba pětině předmětů se dostalo nového detailnějšího popisu. Desítky předmětů jsou zahrnuté či se připravují k zahrnutí do internetové databáze www//himalayanart.org. 2) Publikováno bylo 8 studií namísto plánovaných (cs) 1) The project contributed to better description of items constituting the collection of Tibetan and Mongolian art in the National Gallery. Number of mistakes in the previous description were elucidated and approximately 1/5 of the sum of the collection received brand new and rather detailed description. Tens of items were and will be included into the on-line database www.himalayanart. (en)
